Hi, I'm Gwen — a professional female tattoo artist from Thailand, currently based at my private studio in Pattaya. I've spent over 16 years crafting custom tattoos that connect identity, memory, and fine art into permanent, meaningful work.

My journey started at age 15, when I began as an apprentice under a master tattooist. I went on to earn a Vocational Certificate in Fine Arts, followed by a Bachelor of Fine Arts, graduating at the age of 20. My senior thesis — "Tattooism: Exploring the History, Cultural Identity, and Contemporary Values Reflected Through Tattooing" — gave me an academic foundation I bring to every piece I create.

Before establishing my studio in Pattaya, I built my career as a resident artist at two of Thailand's most recognised studios: Celebrity Ink and Ink.inc. I've also worked as an international guest artist in China and South Korea, and participated in the Young Thai Artists Award Exhibition — one of Thailand's most prestigious contemporary art showcases.

Yes. Sessions take place in a private studio environment — not a shared shop floor or open-plan studio. Gwen works with one client at a time, and the space is calm, enclosed, and professional. How do I prepare for my appointment with Gwen?

Eat a proper meal at least 1–2 hours before your session — low blood sugar is the most common cause of discomfort during tattooing. Stay well hydrated in the days prior. Moisturise the skin around the tattoo area (but not the day of the session). Wear or bring clothing that gives easy access to the placement area. Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours before your session, as it thins blood and affects how your skin takes ink.

What should I wear to my tattoo appointment?

Wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the area being tattooed. For back tattoos, a loose top or strapless bra works well. For leg or hip pieces, shorts or a wrap skirt are ideal.
